Konami is considering developing more Silent Hill games, series producer Motoi Okamoto said in an interview published in Famitsu Issue 1965 and translated by GameObserver. His comments follow the release of Silent Hill: Townfall, which launched worldwide on PC and PlayStation 5 a few weeks before the report. Okamoto said the company is discussing a second and third wave of games after the franchise's recent releases. However, Konami has not disclosed which projects, if any, will receive approval.
The franchise returned with the 2024 remake of Silent Hill 2 after a 12-year period without a new release. Silent Hill: Downpour, released in 2012, was among the last entries before the series went dormant. During a Silent Hill Transmission broadcast in October 2022, Konami announced Silent Hill 2, Silent Hill f, and Silent Hill: Townfall, each developed by a different studio. All three games announced during that presentation have since been released.
According to the translated Famitsu interview, Okamoto described the team as "relieved" and "satisfied" with the reception the franchise has received. He indicated that the recent releases do not mark the end of Konami's plans for Silent Hill, although he could not reveal the company's full intentions. Decisions about which projects to approve still need to be made, so further announcements may take time.
Okamoto also said he did not want the franchise to end with a single remake. He acknowledged that persuading Konami's senior leadership to release three new games had been difficult. The company intends to continue working with multiple studios on the series, but Okamoto did not identify which developers might participate in future projects. The franchise began on the original PlayStation in 1999 and has since expanded across multiple releases.
Beyond games, a potential Silent Hill screen project has also been reported. According to The Wall Street Journal, Roy Lee, producer of the 2026 Resident Evil film, is reportedly working on a Silent Hill project. It remains unclear whether the project will be a feature film or a television series. Lee is also a producer on Amazon's God of War TV series, but the source does not provide a timeline for the Silent Hill project.
Meanwhile, Konami is preparing to release Castlevania: Belmont's Curse, a 2D action game developed in collaboration with the team behind Dead Cells. A free demo is available ahead of the game's scheduled October 14 release. The source does not provide further details about when Konami might announce its next Silent Hill projects.
