Nintendo Switch 2 players won't have to wait until December to experience Monster Hunter Wilds. Capcom is bringing the action RPG to Nintendo's latest console on December 4, 2026, but hunters can get an early taste of the adventure when a free prologue demo launches on the Nintendo eShop on October 20.
The demo offers a chance to experience the beginning of the game before deciding whether to purchase the full version. Players will also be able to transfer their save data to the complete game when it launches, allowing them to continue their progress rather than start over.
There's another welcome feature for friends who prefer hunting together: the demo supports local multiplayer. That means players can team up nearby and experience the opening adventure together before the full release.
Alongside the demo launch, preorders for Monster Hunter Wilds on Switch 2 are scheduled to open next Tuesday. The game will cost €39.99 on Nintendo's console.
With the free demo arriving weeks before the full release, players can get a feel for the gameplay, test the Switch 2 version, and decide whether they're ready to join the hunt in December.
