Rebel Wolves has released Update 1.1 for The Blood of Dawnwalker, its first major post-launch patch for the dark fantasy RPG. The update is available now on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, and focuses on smoother performance, better combat feel, and a range of quality-of-life improvements.
Combat receives some of the most noticeable changes. Rebel Wolves has adjusted animations and camera movement, improved targeting and enemy lock-on, and made it easier to disengage from fights. The studio has also reduced the health of wolves and boars at higher levels, addressing complaints that common animals remained unusually difficult to defeat late in the game.
Players who want a more relaxed experience now have clearer difficulty options. The former Story mode has been renamed Forgiving, while a new Story mode adds extra combat assists for those who want the narrative without struggling through tougher encounters.
Outside combat, the update adds the Draught of Mind Rebirth potion, which lets players respec their skill tree. You can undo Swordmastery, Witchcraft, and Vampirism abilities and reuse the time and points spent learning them to build a different playstyle—especially useful in a game where time is one of its most important resources.
Accessibility also gets a welcome boost. Players can now increase subtitle font size and enable subtitles for every dialogue line, while new controller deadzone settings offer more customization. Shadowstep and Planeshift have also been made more responsive, improving targeting and surface attachment for the game’s teleportation-style movement.
And yes, Coen can now pet dogs and cats. It is a small addition, but one that fits neatly alongside the patch’s broader effort to make the world feel more responsive and pleasant to inhabit.
Beyond the headline features, Update 1.1 includes a long list of bug fixes, stability improvements, and performance adjustments, including fixes for crashes, loading screens, quest progression, and frame-rate drops. Rebel Wolves says it is continuing to investigate a known Frame Generation issue affecting certain AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT systems.
