The Persona franchise may be getting another remake, according to a new leak that surfaced online during Halloween. While Persona 4 Revival and Persona 6 are still in development, footage of a potential remake of the original Revelations: Persona has already made its way onto the internet.
If the footage is genuine, it could offer an early look at how Atlus plans to bring one of its most influential RPGs into the modern era.
Approximately two minutes of gameplay footage reportedly appeared online during Halloween, showcasing what appears to be an in-development remake of Revelations: Persona, originally released in 1996.
The footage features the protagonist exploring a school-themed dungeon before engaging in combat. Tatsuya Suou, the protagonist of Persona 2: Innocent Sin, also makes an appearance.
The video appears to have been created for an internal presentation rather than a public announcement. Fans have also noticed similarities between its animations and those featured in Persona 4 Revival, suggesting Atlus may be reusing some of its existing development assets.
Although the footage has yet to be officially confirmed, it provides an intriguing glimpse at how the original game could be reimagined with the visual style and presentation of modern Persona titles.
If the project is real, its release could still be several years away.
Atlus is currently preparing Persona 4 Revival, scheduled to launch in February 2027, while Persona 6 remains without an official release date. A remake of the original Persona would likely arrive after these projects, allowing the studio to focus on its upcoming releases first.
The positive reception of Persona 3 Reload may have encouraged Atlus to explore additional remakes of its older games. Revisiting the original Persona could introduce a new generation of players to the franchise's beginnings while giving longtime fans a fresh way to experience its story.
The latest footage adds to a growing list of Persona-related leaks.
Gameplay from Persona 3 Reload surfaced online before its official announcement. Meanwhile, Persona 4 Revival was revealed prematurely after voice actors discussed their absence from the project, and Persona 6 achievements reportedly leaked earlier this year.
While these leaks can generate excitement among fans, repeated early reveals may create challenges for Atlus as it works to maintain control over its announcements and development plans.
For now, the potential Revelations: Persona remake remains unconfirmed. However, the footage has already sparked interest in the possibility of revisiting the series' roots with modern visuals, updated gameplay, and a fresh experience for both longtime fans and newcomers.
