Steam Next Fest may be over, but its demos left behind a strong list of upcoming games worth keeping an eye on. From co-op survival and management sims to sports games and fantasy RPGs, these six titles stood out as the most promising additions to a wishlist.
Frostrail is a co-op survival shooter that feels like a distant relative of Frostpunk. Players manage a steam-powered train traveling through a frozen wasteland, scavenging for parts while fighting off monstrous threats hiding in the snow.
This gothic management sim puts players in charge of a gem shop. You extract minerals from stone, turn them into jewelry, and uncover a darker mystery beneath the shop’s elegant surface.
Just Volleyball does exactly what its name suggests: it turns volleyball into a casual multiplayer PC game. With relatively few volleyball games available, its simple, old-school sports appeal could make it a pleasant surprise.
The sequel to the under-the-radar roguelike Deadzone Rogue promises an even more intense first-person shooter experience. Players can expect powerful builds, meta progression, and plenty of ways to push their strength to absurd levels.
For cozy-game fans, Loftia is one of the most promising titles from the event. The farming sim enters early access on November 3 and lets players build and care for an island town together, complete with pets that can be dressed up.
Wyldheart offers a flexible alternative to organizing a full Dungeons & Dragons night. Its co-op action RPG campaigns are designed to be bite-sized, with seamless drop-in and drop-out play for groups that cannot always commit to long sessions. The game has already passed 500,000 wishlists on Steam.
