After eight years of near-total silence, The Elder Scrolls 6 may finally be preparing for its first major public reveal. According to a report from The Verge, Bethesda plans to announce the sequel’s full title—reportedly The Elder Scrolls 6: Sentinel—around the 15th anniversary of Skyrim on November 11.
The report claims the game will be set in Hammerfell, the desert province home to the Redguards, and will explore the history of the Elder Scrolls themselves. Much like Starfield, players may spend much of the adventure uncovering the secrets of mysterious ancient artifacts.
The rumored subtitle would not be entirely new to observant fans. An Easter egg allegedly hidden in an early Starfield trailer, combined with a social media post from Xbox CEO Asha Sharma, led many to speculate that Sentinel was the game’s title. Sharma’s post praised the sequel’s “scale and grandeur” and “incredible” story, though it censored the final word in the title.
Bethesda has offered only small updates in recent years. The studio previously said The Elder Scrolls 6 was fully playable internally, while Xbox leadership has continued to describe it as a major priority. Bethesda has also confirmed that the next Elder Scrolls entry remains its primary project, even as it prepares Fallout 5 and additional Fallout projects.
A title reveal would be a meaningful step forward, but it would not necessarily mean the game is close to release. Recent reporting suggests The Elder Scrolls 6 remains at least two years away, and the game’s development has unfolded amid significant Xbox restructuring and layoffs.
Still, for fans who have been surviving on a brief announcement trailer since 2018, even a confirmed title, setting, or first proper gameplay footage would be a major moment. If the report proves accurate, the long wait for the next chapter of Tamriel may finally begin to feel real.
