Fans of Final Fantasy 7 have a fantastic opportunity to revisit one of gaming's most beloved stories or experience it for the first time. Square Enix is offering significant discounts on Final Fantasy 7 Remake and Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth for Nintendo Switch 2, bringing both games below $8.

With Final Fantasy Revelation arriving in April, the sale offers an affordable way to prepare for the next chapter of Cloud and his companions' journey.

The Nintendo Switch 2 eShop sale includes both entries in the Final Fantasy 7 Remake trilogy at substantial discounts.

• Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade: $7.99, down from $39.99.
• Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth: $7.49, down from $49.99.

The Switch 2 edition of Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade includes the additional Episode INTERmission story featuring Yuffie, the Wutai ninja. The expansion explores her adventures in Midgar while introducing additional lore that connects to the wider remake trilogy.

For players who have yet to experience the first chapter, the package offers an excellent starting point for the journey.

Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade delivers Cloud Strife's journey through Midgar, combining familiar characters, emotional storytelling, and dynamic combat.

The Switch 2 version performs impressively overall, maintaining a relatively steady frame rate even during battles. Occasional performance dips and resolution adjustments can occur, but the game's more enclosed environments help keep the experience running smoothly.

Some visual compromises are noticeable, particularly in character hair and finer details. However, these limitations do little to diminish the overall experience of exploring Midgar and following the story.

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth takes Cloud and his companions beyond Midgar into a much larger world filled with exploration, side activities, and new challenges.

The open-world design places greater demands on the Switch 2 hardware than its predecessor. Some environmental details appear less refined than on PlayStation 5, while objects and scenery can occasionally pop into view during exploration.

Despite these compromises, the game remains playable and generally performs well. Frame drops are relatively uncommon during important story moments and battles, allowing the adventure's most memorable scenes to shine.

Players looking to add a few extra digital goodies can also pick up the Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth Deluxe Edition DLC for just $3, down from $20.

The additional content includes:

• Magic Pot summoning materia
• Orchid Bracelet armor
• Reclaimant Choker accessory
• Digital art book
• Digital mini-soundtrack

The DLC focuses on bonus items and digital extras rather than additional story content.

With Final Fantasy Revelation scheduled to arrive in April, the current eShop sale provides an accessible opportunity to experience the remake trilogy's story so far.

Whether discovering Cloud's adventure for the first time or revisiting the journey before its next major chapter, both games offer hours of memorable storytelling, exciting combat, and beloved characters.

At less than $8 each, the discounted adventures make catching up with the Final Fantasy 7 universe easier than ever.
