The GTA 6 release date remains on schedule, according to Rockstar North co-studio lead Rob Nelson, who addressed concerns about the upcoming launch in an interview with Famitsu. When asked whether Grand Theft Auto VI would arrive in November as planned, Nelson gave a direct response, stating: “I'd be thrilled if you feel confident about the quality. And it will definitely be released on time.”
The game is scheduled to launch on November 19, and the statement offers reassurance to players who have been watching for updates about its release. Nelson's comments came after Grand Theft Auto VI received an Extended Look, which gave fans another opportunity to see the game in action.
Developed by Rockstar Games, Grand Theft Auto VI follows Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos in a new criminal story set in Leonida, including the city of Vice City. Previous promotional material has shown neon-lit nightlife, busy highways, vehicles, wildlife, and different environments across the game's world.
Rockstar has also shared details about the game's weather, the relationship between Jason and Lucia, and elements of its story. These reveals have given players more information about the upcoming title, although the source notes that the game's marketing campaign still has more to cover.
The Extended Look showed gameplay footage, while other promotional materials have highlighted the world and its features. Rockstar has showcased environments across the map, along with vehicles and details about wildlife. The studio has also offered glimpses of Jason and Lucia's relationship and hinted at aspects of the story.
Nelson's statement directly addresses whether the game will meet its planned November release. Although the source acknowledges that some players remain concerned about the possibility of another delay, his comments indicate that Rockstar currently intends to release Grand Theft Auto VI on schedule.
