Sony has officially released the October 2026 monthly games for PlayStation Plus subscribers. Members of the Essential, Extra, and Premium tiers can claim F1 25, Hunt: Showdown 1896, and Earth Defense Force: World Brothers 2 at no additional cost until November 2.

The new lineup became available on October 6, following the removal of September’s games—Sniper Elite: Resistance, Chained Echoes, Wobbly Life, and MLB The Show 26—on October 5. Subscribers who claimed last month’s titles can continue playing them as long as they maintain an active PlayStation Plus membership.

F1 25 is the most valuable game in October’s selection, with a listed retail price of $69.99. The PS5 racing game, released on May 30, 2025, supports one or two players and has an OpenCritic score of 80. Hunt: Showdown 1896 is also available exclusively on PS5. The extraction shooter launched on August 15, 2024, and supports between one and 12 players. It has a listed value of $29.99 and an OpenCritic score of 80.

The third addition is Earth Defense Force: World Brothers 2, a third-person shooter available on both PS5 and PS4. Released on September 26, 2024, it supports one to four players, carries a listed value of $49.99, and has an OpenCritic score of 78.Together, the three games represent $149.97 in retail value. That is $30 less than September’s selection but $50 more than the Essential lineup offered in August. Earth Defense Force: World Brothers 2 currently has the highest PlayStation Store user rating of the three games, with 4.68 stars. F1 25 follows with 4.45 stars, while Hunt: Showdown 1896 has a 4.18-star rating.

October’s selection also continues Sony’s gradual transition away from PS4 support. Earth Defense Force: World Brothers 2 is the only PS4-compatible game in the lineup, while F1 25 and Hunt: Showdown 1896 are limited to PS5. Of the 33 Essential games released during the first ten months of 2026, 21 still included PS4 support. However, October’s one-PS4-game lineup could indicate that the proportion will decline more noticeably in 2027.PS Plus members can also access several additional promotions during October. Select subscribers can claim Spider-Man: Brand New Day avatars until October 20, although the offer is restricted to regions where the Sony Pictures Core video-on-demand application is available.

Sony’s PS Plus HorrorFest promotion is also running throughout the month. The event began with a Call of Duty: Warzone Horror Bundle on October 1 and has since added free DLC for Hunt: Showdown 1896. On October 7, subscribers can claim the Draugr Reinhardt Legendary Skin and five Tier Skips Pack for Overwatch 2.
